Test photos location

Today I went to the location with a 'dummy' model to take some test photos. My friend wanted a new photo for her instagram so it was a win win situation. I took a little more photos than I had in mind because I also practiced with poses and what would look nice. I found out that I still had a lot of trouble with this and at a certain point I no longer had nice poses. That is why I am going to do research in poses and how I can present the accessories. I already have some ideas in my head, but I want to prepare even better so that I have more choice to choose from.

First I would use two location. The church and the bridge. But after taking pictures at the church I had more than enough locations to use. I came across a few more new spots and this was more than enough for the photo shoot. These photos were taken with my own iphone 8 plus. The camera capture is set to high efficiency and the high dynamic range is set to Auto HDR. Unfortunately I could not change the settings of the ISO and shutter speed.  The shutter speed is not longer than 1/3 of a second on my iphone.   I also have to take into account that the photos are now taken in the afternoon and the photo shoot is at 5:30 in the morning so the light will be slightly different

See here the overview. I have made photos of 4 locations.

Because I had to many pictures I decided to chose a few to talk about. See the images below
I chose this location because I like the old architecture. The lightning is good and the colours. I will take photos from below and straight.

I hadn't named this location yet, but when I saw it I thought it was beautiful. the ceiling has beautiful stones. This is why I tried to use the pano function so that it is clearly visible in the photo.

I really like the pillars to add and use in my photos. I can still play with this with the poses. I do have to make sure that the lamp does not give an incorrect light because it is warm. So far I don't think it's wrong or disturbing.

In this picture the lightning is not good because the light comes from behind. You cannot see her face well and it doesn't look good.

This way is much better because there is more daylight and I will shoot from this way.

In this picture I have used the function pano. It adds more to the picture using this function.

Putting the model against the pillar makes the photo more playful and I can go in more directions.

Used the function pano again but from a different angle.

I made close ups with an old door as background. If I want to present the sunglasses I want to do it this way and try different poses.

I made a picture of this because I wanted to use this location to present the accessories. I like the stones in the background because it looks more historical.

I also made a picture of this because I want to present the accessories here as well.

By taking test photos I found out which locations are fun to use. Also how to take the photos and from which side. Now that I know a little about what the environment looks like, I will do research in different poses to get even more out of the photo shoot.

  1. Excellent post! Really like the framing and light in photo 19, good combination of natural and artificial light.
