Project development

In yesterday's lesson we had to make 5 sketches to develop our work. I decided to focus on the dress I am going to make. I already made 3 sketches of ideas for my dress but I thought it would be useful to try different shapes. I have used shapes that I would not be so quick to choose. with this I hoped to get new inspiration

I made 5 sketches from different types of tops. See image below.

We also had to create 5 more sketches to develop our previous sketches. This could be minimize, exaggerate or change colours. I decided to do something different. I made also 5 sketches of different types of skirts. See image below.

What I have done next is to randomly connect the pieces together. I did not look what would look best but I just drew a line. I think this would be a better exercise for my project and would be more useful than just change the colours or change the mediums. B
ecause I did this I see dresses that I would never have drawn myself. I have used shapes that I would not be so quick to choose. With this I hoped to get new inspiration and it worked.

The top queen anna and the skirt accordion I like best. It is a combination I would never choose. But seeing this, it looks great together. The tops reminds me of the past and the type of the skirt I saw a lot last year. This would be a great fit for my project because I want to reinvent the dress and now I'm combining two trends.

  1. This is really well directed, very tight and sharp drawings showing a better understanding of some of the fundamental aspects of your subject area. You have also linked it well to your project and fits well with what you are aiming at this term.
