Lecture: Yoko Ono

Today I watched videos of Yoko Ono as part of my lecture. I already knew who she was but today I saw a side of her I did not know yet. In these short 6 videos  you saw what her life was like, the nice and less pleasant sides. I saw a glimpse of her life. It made me sad because people misunderstood her, and judge her when they didn't even know her. What I found inspiring is that she stayed true to herself and stands up for what she believes in. She was so creative and expressed herself through art.

However, this documentary is not entirely about Yoko Ono's art, but about her personal life. During that hour they mainly talked about her and John Lennon's relationship. Many people thought that Ono was the reason for the break up of the Beatles, but shown in the documentary she wasn't the reason. Most people know her for the bad memories but she explained she had a lot of good memories as well. That is why I think many people misunderstood her.

I do think this documentary was interesting because we got to know more about her personal life. However, related to my progression route I think it would be more interesting if they showed more of her artworks as well, and how it changed during different stages of her life.
