First sketches
Today I made sketches of ideas I had for my dress. I considered basic shapes for my dress so the design is classic and timeless. All the dresses are elegant, feminine and simple. The design I like best is the middle one. This is because I think I can create more different looks with accessoires. The top fits tightly and the skirt is a bit wider. I decided to create the dress for a friend. She will be the model in my images. I also have to consider which shapes looks best with her body because she has broad shoulders and with a wide boat neck this will be less noticeable.
This week I will go to a second-hand shop to look for fabrics for my dress. Maybe I get new inspiration and I can start experimenting with fabrics.

Okay, great so far. Add images of your model, perhaps with notes of what you are intending, or have you thought about using images of your model as the basis of sketches, drawing over the top of a printed image with tracing paper - it would give you the opportunity to try out many different versions and approaches in a short space of time.
ReplyDeleteYou could develop these sketches for your class task - add colour, change emphasis with colour, look at the way you are 'lighting' your drawings
