Class exercises

This week we created templates for fashion illustration. We looked at creating Proportion in both Female and Male figures. We created our own  Templates based on four poses.  After this we trace over our templates and dress our model. Then we explored patterns and colours.  I have used pencils, inkt pen and coloured markers.

In this image below I created proportion in a figure. I have used 10 horizontal lines and used 8 heads for the height of the figure. I used HB pencil.

In this image I have created a template from poses we received from our teacher. I have used 2 male figures and 2 female figures. I used HB pencil.

In this image I trace the figures from the first picture and I have used ink pen.

In this image I trace the figures from the first picture and added garments. The style is street wear/casual. It was the first time I designed clothes for male. So the designs are basic but I think it worked out well. I have used HB pencils

In this image I used dots and dashes to colour the figures. I did not had many colours so the colours are simple.

I found these exercises very useful because I am new to drawing fashion illustration. It was also useful to see how the proportions are from the male figures. Through practice I see that I am making progress and things start to look better and better, creating my own style.

  1. These are really good, I'm surprised that you didn't want to show them in the class. There si a really good development of your idea from the initial sketch onwards. This was clearly useful to you and the need to develop sketches such as these should help you develop your designs (and experiment) as you mentioned in an earlier post.
