Trend research

For my 4 2D outcomes I want to use accessories inspired by the 60's. In order to further develop my ideas, it is important to know which accessories I will be using. That is why I started to research the trends in the 1960s. My next post will be a research from trends now. This will be useful for my 3D outcome.

After doing my research I found out that there weren't many trends that I could use from the 1960s. My choices were very limited and so I decided to inspire my project in the 90s

90s trends:

Bucket hats were really famous in 1990. You will also see this item coming back this year.

Scarves are a timeless and will always come back. What was very trendy in 1990 is that she wore the scarf around the neck like a choker.

Simple studs. These earrings are simple, elegant and classy. Easy to combine with your outfit.

These oval sunglasses in 1990 are inspired from the 60s.

Mini bags. Classy, stylish and easy to combine with your outfit.

Mini skirts. I think this trend will always remain

The little black dress was invented in 1926. To this day this is a real statement piece

Plaid blazers and skirts. This pattern can be really nice for my design for my 3D outcome.

Patent leather and vinyl to give my design a futuristic look.

Lace and sheer fabrics are always a good idea.

Blazers with loud prints and vibrant colors. A more daring pattern for my design.

Crushed velvet

There were many trends from the 90s and many choices to choose from. I decided I am going to use scarfs, pearl earrings, mini bags and sunglasses. I think these accessories are easy to combine with my outfit I am going to create. I am going to create a dress inspired on Chanel's little black dress. This dress never goes out of style and will always remain within fashion. Black means eternity, so I think this matches perfectly with my theme and my dress will have an underlying thought.  I still have to do more research in fabrics, but it is good to know which fabrics were famous in the 90s.
