Trend research part two

Last term I already researched trends from spring summer 2021, therefore I decided to research trends for autumn/winter 2021. I have considered which trends I can use for my 3D outcome. I mainly focused on the trends that were useful for my design.

Sheer fantasy

This fabric was also a trend in the 90s, so this would be a great fabric to use for my dress. I don't want to make this dress too sexy, so I would use this fabric for a few parts.

Sparkles everywhere

I don't think I want to use this trend as fabric for the whole dress. In my mind it doesn't remind me of the 90's. However maybe I can use this fabric as details for the dress or for the accessories.

Mini skirts

It's funny to see that some of these trends are inspired on the 90s, making their way back like this trend. This would be a great fit for my theme.

Of course there were more trends such as knitwear, oversized jackets and dark denim. However, they weren't useful for my design. I like these trends I chosen because they are inspired on the 90s and match with my theme. These 3 trends can be easily incorporate into my dress. If I continue to focus my design on the little black dress, the shapes should remain simple.  I could make the dress more special by using for example sheer fabric and make the dress shorter so that it is inspired by the mini skirt. The second idea I have is to design a skirt with a matching top so it looks like a dress but it's not. Something similar as above in the picture.
