Theme: Ultimate black
Title: Something new, something old, something black.
I have decided to do a fashion design project this term for art portfolio. Last term I have done the same for the first time, and therefore it still need much improvement. Therefore, I thought this would be a great opportunity to develop my drawing skills. This project I am going to make a fashion design collection based on accessoires. Which accessoires are still to be considered. The theme I will use is ultimate black with a touch of primitivism using trends from the past combining with trends of today. I will create 4 designs in 2D and create on piece in 3D using a mannequin. I will be using new techniques I have never done before such as sewing and draping. The colour palette will be black or different shapes of black. The materials and fabrics are still to be researched and considered. The target market will be woman aged 20-30 years old. I have 7 weeks to finish my project and I will present my final work in my portfolio on my website.
I still need to consider how I want to present my work. Which topic I want to use because the theme black is vague and if it will be high street or haute couture.
This is good - well done, so far! In terms of presentation, you could use the approach of last term and develop a flip book, or produce your outcomes as a magazine feature with supporting editorial commentary as long as it has a consistent theme and visuals throughout. Think about this before I see you for your tutorial next week.
