Initial research

Now that I know which idea I want to use for my project, I want to start my first research into how I can get more inspiration from my theme. The ultimate black theme is rather vague and cannot be used in too many ways.  That's why I wanted to use a specific theme inspired by black. I decided to use the 1960s as my theme.

I have done research in photography advertising in the 1960s to find inspiration. I will research advertising in more depth later this term, but for now I only looked at the images to get a clearer vision of what I want to do.

This is the vision I have in mind for my advertising photos. Using accessories from trends in the 1960's and edit the pictures in black and white. I think I will do close ups photo's and not many distractions, so the focus remains on the accessories. I will search on the internet for accessories and also going to second hand shops for items I can use in my background. For now I want to use pearls, scarfs (around the head) bags and gloves. This can change because I am going to do research in trends from the 1960s.

  1. You have kind of answered my last comment on the previous SMART post. But the question remains in terms of your target market, what kind of powerful women are you aiming at and what is the purpose of your project - would this be practical wear, or a series of designs that could be adaptable for different occasions?
