Research fashion trends 2021

Today I continued working on my set project for this term. I want to base my designs on the trends of 2021 of spring/summer. When I looked at those trends, I looked at how I wanted to incorporate this into my designs and how it would fit my theme.

I think these colors fit under the theme fairytale. It reminds me of those beautiful ballroom dresses from the Bridgerton series. These colors could enhance my theme in my designs

Using this trend in my designs would make a photo shoot much easier. I have a lot of black and white items of clothing hanging in my closet and I can use this in a smart way.

Charlotte Knowles - Midriff flossing
I am considering to use this style into a dress. Thin straps just below the bust and then a wider bottom to give the dress more shape. I have to make sure that the dress doesn't get too sexy because that doesn't quite fit my theme but it can be feminine.

The maxi dresses are back. The research I have done in Madeleine Vionnet fits in well with this. A smooth-falling dress with a fabric that slightly shows through which makes it feminine. I would make the dress a little less transparent.

Schiaparelli - Wide strides
I already had in mind after my research to design a palazzo pants. It is nice to see that this is also a trend for the spring / summer 2021. This trend itself is a bit more businesslike than I had in mind. I'll use the shapes and a high waist but loosen the pants a bit.

Comme des Garçons - Cape detailing
A trend that I have not seen often yet, but we can certainly expect it this summer. I hadn't thought about this at all, while this fits well with my theme.
I still have to consider carefully about how I want to use this in my designs because I am not sure how.

Glitter and glamor fits very well with my theme. I already had this in mind to incorporate into my designs. It can often happen when glitter is used that you can only wear this for special occasions. That is why I would not cover the entire dress with glitter but, for example, only certain parts.

Givenchy - Cut outs
Since I also have to design the back for my outfits, a cut out on the back would make it much more interesting to look at.

Moschino - Corsets
Corsets were of course worn a lot in the past and this reminds me of a fairytale. I want to incorporate this trend into my designs as a top or as a top for a dress. I also take this into account that it does not get too sexy because that can happen quickly with a corset. I can also use the back of a corset with laces for the back of my designs

This is a trend that has stayed with me from winter. It was already a trend at the time, but it will also return this summer. I also think this is a nice trend and that is why I also want to use this in my designs. Perhaps like sleeves for a dress.

There are of course more trends, but I chose these because they appeal to me and are interesting. I also considered how these designs will match my thema. G
radually I can start designing my designs. I still have to do a lot of research but the ideas are slowly coming in and I get a better idea of how I want to create my designs
