Once upon a time - First sketches and colour palette

I started sketching my designs. I wanted to incorporate magic, fairytale and mysterious according to my theme purple haze. These designs are inspired by a fairytale but made for in real life. Every outfit has a meaning from a fairytale.
With these sketches I experimented with colours and are therefore not my final designs yet.

I wanted to work with watercolor first but i didn't have all the right colors and so decided to use both.

Below you see my first design that I already finished. I had been thinking about doing the top purple and the skirt black, but after making my other designs I came back to this.
To match the colors more with my color palette, I made the top light peach. See below.

The ugly stepsister

The mother of the stepsisters. This design is being adjusted because a hat will be added so that I can use it for a photo shoot.

By adjusting my first design all my designs match better.

Reflection:
I have taken the trends into account. I also find the idea behind the designs original. Moreover, the designs and colors match well. I am glad that I first tested to adjust things if necessary. Now I am well prepared for my final designs.

  1. Good that you have started your sketches - now think about how you might improve these for your final portfolio - one thing I would suggest is doing something interesting with the heads of your models and making these look as contemporary as possible - also you might consider doing a back view or side view. What can you add here to make these more interesting to view and to sell to a client?
