Lecture: Alfred Stieglitz and Georgia O'Keeffe

In today's lecture we had Alfred Stieglitz and Georgia O'Keeffe. I also did not know who they were so this was really interesting.

What I found most interesting was that Alfred was the one who further discovered photography. He did not stay within his comfort zone and photographed real things. This was a revolution for photography. As a good artist I think it is important to try to be more daring like he did.

He and his wife sought out the border and were not feared. With Georgia I found it interesting how her paintings change over time, but mainly after Alfred's death. I could see how she changed through her paintings and thus developed her style.
You could also clearly see their love through paintings and photographs. I also think that they brought out the best in each other.

I personally liked the art she made for Alfred's death more. This is because what she painted after his death was much less abstract.

Flower of life by Georgia O'Keeffe

The letters they sent to each other reminded me of the movie notebook. I really liked this love story and the letters reinforced that. I sometimes miss this in life now because I find letters much more personal.
