Critically evaluating your website

Planning stage:
- What were your initial ideas for creating a website?
Creating my website went well from the start. Everything I chose first I was satisfied with it. I only had a background behind my photo and other colors on my about page and I adjusted that because I did not like it. The colors did not match my other page and the background was too busy.
- Do you have a tagline on your website?
No, only my name and that I am an Art & Design fashion student.

Research:
- Which designers/artists/websites did you look for inspiration?
Karl Lagerfeld,  Tom Ford, Path McGrath, Iris van Herpen, David Bailey,Juergen Teller, The Trendspotter and Harper's Bazaar
- How many pages did you want to make on your website and why? Did that change as you progressed onto the research?
For now I want to have 4 pages. Through my research I have been able to see what a website looks like and most of the time it contains more pages but for now I don't want to change anything because what I have now shows the most important information and if I added more pages it would be a side issue and not be relevant at the moment.

Content:
- What is the purpose of your website?
To showcase my work to my teachers, to build a portfolio and also to apply for a University.

- Who are your potential website users?
 Employers, teachers from University,
- Why do you think it is important to have a digital portfolio website?
This way potential employers can find you. The chances are much higher because everyone has access to your website and it
can also offer opportunities that you would never have thought of before.

Design:
- Which design elements/tools did you use?
* I added the contact tool on my contact page so people can contact me
* I added a social bar on my contact page so people can see my blog
* I used strip to choose a layout for my about me page so it does not look boring.
* I changed the background so all the pages looks the same
* I changed colors to add more details to pages. I made sure I used colors that will match with each other.
* I added the gallery and used the layout where you have more pictures next to each other. I like this layout because the photos are presented side by side and you do not see all the photo's right away which the page remains calm.
* I added menu so people can see all my pages.
* I changed the font and size so it is the same on every pages.
- Which template did you use in Wix and why?
I chose a template that I found when I entered fashion in the search bar. I thought this suited me best because I am a fashion student. The layout of this template was calm and clear.
- How many pages does your website have and why?
As I said in the previous question I have 4 pages. On these pages you have all the information needed for now and there is no other information yet to share on my website.

Navigation:
- Does your website have working social media icon links?
Yes, I added my blogger link and clicked on it and the pages opened so it works.
- Are your pages connected?
Yes, all pages have the same background and the colors I used match.
- Is it easy to navigate?
Yes, there is not too much on the page which can be distracting. That is why it is easy to navigate.
- Does the "Contact" page / e-mail work?
Yes, I did a test and I received an e-mail so I know it works.

Testing: (week 9)
- UX testing - get your blog buddy to view your website on their mobile or other digital platform
- Ask your blog buddy for feedback on your blog
- If your website is not working on a mobile platform, you will need to go to the Wix editor and check that you have enabled the mobile view.
