Further development of my advertisement

After doing my research on awereness campains I got a clear idea of what I wanted to do with my advertisement. Recently I saw a documentary of Bont girl on Videoland made in China by Famke Louise. She is a Dutch vlogger, model, influencer and singer. In 2018, Famke Louise was proclaimed for 'Dom Bontje' this is a dutch proverb and it means that people think she was stupid for wearing fur. That is why she wanted to go to China to portray the fur industry there. To be able to film everything in China and to see how it went, she used as a cover that she was going to set up a clothing brand. Initially it was communicated that she would launch a fur clothing line, but this turned out to be an action to draw attention to the documentary. An ''activist'' campaign leader Moranni te Winkel from Fur for Animals ran on stage during the launch in the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam and smeared Famke Louise with red paint. The activist was taken away after which the documtary began. Until that moment, none of the invitees knew that this was a stunt.

This documentary was poignant, terrifying and heartbreaking. This is why I wanted to make an advertisement to stop fur production. I wanted to use a slogan that engages people and makes people think about whether it is so important to wear fur. We think our appearance is important and I wanted to use this in my tagline. That is why my tagline is: You will never look elegant by killing an innocent life. I also wanted to use a photo that gave me the same feeling when I saw this documentary of Bont girl. Often people do not know how it is been made and they only see the finished product, not knowing what happend before which makes it look less bad. That is why I chose a photo where you can see the process briefly. I hope this will open people's eyes. My logo for this ad is: Fur real! To show that there is no other way now and that we have to stop fur production. I created my own logo. I used the lightning icon to make my logo more catchy. My audience are people who buy or want to buy fur. Therefore, this advertisement is aimed at a wider audience from young to older people.  See below a sketch of how I wanted to make my advertisement.

  • In the left corner I add my logo. I want to fade my logo so that it does not stand out as much.
  • My tagline turns red, so it means that when you wear fur, you have blood on your hands. I chose the font of Adios Amigos because it reminds me of movies where scary stuff is written ons mirrors or walls.
  • The pictures shows the progress of fur production.
